Laureen Smith is a Billboard charting American songwriter and Founder of the Flynn Smith Collective, a large collection of international creatives of musical artists, writers and producers.
Having a master’s degree in Deaf Education, she has been surrounded by children and children’s literature for most of her life.

Laureen's first children's picture book is also part of her "Bear Hug Box" project established with her twin sister Lisa Namm, donating bears, blankets and books to children in traumatic situations.

BEAR HUG BOX PROGRAM
We would like to thank Laureen Flynn Smith for her generous donation of books, teddy bears & blankets for children, as part of her Bear Hug Box program. These gifts will be used to comfort children who are involved in a traumatic experience. These boxes have been delivered to fire and hurricane victims in other states, and we are fortunate that Laureen is a local resident and was able to provide these boxes to our agency. She is seen here with Lt. Preston Gentzler and Chief Stephen Zerbe.
